about the site

I first played Tales of Phantasia in 2006; I saw the GBA version at my local game store and picked it up. For all that the GBA version is a terrible iteration of the game, I really am glad that it made it over if only so that I got to play what would become one of my favorite games of all time. Tales of Phantasia gave me my love of JRPGs, and I'll alwyas be thankful for that.

I'm very, very fond of Tales of Phantasia, in many ways for nostalgia reasons — I played it at a pretty formative time of my life, and I've played it about 5 or 6 times, so it's sunk in pretty deeply. Still, I do think it's a fantastic RPG, and pretty underrated at that. Later Tales games tend to get more attention, but Phantasia will probably always be the one I love most. It's a very classic JRPG, but it's got a lot of heart, and it's a hell of a lot of fun. There's not much else I can ask for in a game.

This is the second layout for the fanlisting; when I decided to crosslist it with the OVA I figured I should reflect that in the layout. It turned out pretty simple, but I like how it came out. The background pattern is by subtlepatterns.

My endless thanks go to Varen (formerly of iris-noire.org) for adopting this fanlisting to me; I am eternally grateful ♥
